The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the latest addition to the Korean automaker's growing lineup of electric vehicles. It is also the first N model based on a dedicated EV platform, combining the eco-friendly benefits of zero-emission driving with a sports car's exhilarating performance and handling.
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023, showcasing its impressive capabilities on the famous hill climb course. The electric sports car was driven by professional drivers, including Thierry Neuville, Hyundai's World Rally Championship driver, who praised the car's responsiveness, agility, and power.
The Ioniq 5 N electric sports car is based on the Ioniq 5, Hyundai's midsize crossover that launched in 2021. The Ioniq 5 electric car was already striking and innovative, with its retro-futuristic design, spacious and versatile interior, and advanced technology features. The Ioniq 5 N takes these qualities to the next level with a more aggressive and aerodynamic exterior, a sportier and more refined cabin, and a host of performance enhancements.
Power and performance
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is powered by a dual-motor system that delivers a combined output of 402 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 161 mph. The car also features an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) that distributes torque between the front and rear wheels for optimal traction and stability.
The car's battery pack has a capacity of 72.6 kWh, which enables a range of up to 280 miles on a single charge. The car supports fast charging, allowing it to replenish up to 80% of its battery in just 18 minutes using a 350-kW charger. The car also has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that allows it to supply power to external devices or other vehicles.
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N offers five driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Sport+, and Custom. Each mode adjusts the car's power delivery, steering response, suspension stiffness, and sound character to suit different driving situations and preferences. The car also has a launch control feature that maximizes acceleration from a standstill.
