The MINI Cooper SE Convertible is the first fully electric convertible from the iconic British brand, and it promises to deliver a fun and sustainable driving experience in the city. The car was recently unveiled in London, where it showed off its stylish design, agile performance, and zero-emission technology.
A Trip Through London in the MINI Cooper SE Convertible
To celebrate the global launch of the MINI Cooper SE Convertible, a group of journalists and influencers were invited to take a trip through London in the car, exploring some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and hidden gems. The route included stops at Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Covent Garden, and Camden Market, as well as some lesser-known spots like Neal’s Yard, Little Venice, and Primrose Hill.
The trip was designed to showcase the car’s features and benefits in an urban environment, where electric vehicles are increasingly popular and practical. The MINI Cooper SE Convertible has a range of up to 177 miles (285 kilometers) on a single charge, which is more than enough for most city trips. It also has a fast-charging capability that allows it to recharge up to 80 percent of its battery in just 35 minutes at a public charging station.
The electric car also offers a smooth and responsive driving experience, thanks to its electric motor that delivers 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 199 pound-feet (270 newton-meters) of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 93 mph (150 km/h). The car also has three driving modes: Sport, Mid, and Green, which allow the driver to adjust the steering, acceleration, and regenerative braking according to their preference.
The MINI Cooper SE Convertible also retains the distinctive design and character of the MINI brand, with its round headlights, hexagonal grille, Union Jack taillights, and customizable colors and options. The car also has a fully automatic soft-top roof that can be opened or closed in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 19 mph (30 km/h). The roof also has a sunroof function that allows it to slide back by up to 16 inches (40 centimeters) for a partial open-air feeling.
